In this post we’re going to talk about somewhere that we think is the best self catering accommodation in Ballycastle.
The best self catering family accommodation in Ballycastle….we think it’s our house!
We’re also biased.
Ever since we pulled up to Forestside House for the very first time we’ve seen and developed the potential to accommodate large groups and families on the North Coast. It’s more spacious than anything we’ve ever owned and we think it’s perfect.
Thankfully we’ve had the opportunity to enjoy our own family holidays here and we’ve loved every one of them. There’s just something great about getting away from it all with your loved ones. Whether its nanny’s fry in the morning, or dad’s BBQ on the patio in the evening, it’s a time to leave your phones switched off and just enjoy each other’s company.
Staycations
When we look at just how much time each year we spend with our extended family it pales in comparison to our desires. Hence getting away from it all is a way to unwind and reconnect with our loved ones.
You can’t put a price on this, and as we’ve mentioned before in the rise in staycations in Ballycastle, the rest of Northern Ireland (and the whole of the UK and Ireland) have clicked onto the fact that beauty can lie on your doorstep – it’s just a case of heading out and embracing it.
With a large kitchen and two living rooms, there’s enough space to have your own space whilst you’re all together. Kids love the garden and adults love the fact that their children are safe. We’re in the countryside, but not too remote.
It’s perfect. Why not get the family together and see for yourselves? We hope you think our house is as great as we do!

With each of these sights having their own appeal, there’s so much to see and do – and that’s without talking about Rathlin Island (just a short ferry journey from Ballycastle harbour) or many of the stunning walks that you can go on around the North Coast. There’s a reason the North Coast of Northern Ireland is classified as an area of outstanding natural beauty. Just the coastal drive from Belfast to Ballycastle alone is well worth the ice cream at the end! It’s why Ballycastle town is the main meetup place for numerous motorbike fanatics thanks to the stunning routes in and out of the town.
Quite simply put, not only can 16 of your family enjoy self catering accommodation all under one roof, but with the addition of Forestside Cottage you can extend this to 23 people – all in one place. With the house being situated in the heart of the North Coast, there’s things for everyone in the nearby vicinity.
